Piston Pens

'Piston Pens' is a carbon fibre and CNC aluminium pen set designed for motorsport enthusiasts, designed and created by Brandon from MechatronCNC.

The Idea came from the love of CNC machining and being a petrol head, it was obvious that I needed to merge these two interests.

The overall design represents an exploded view of an highly tuned race engine where the pistons have exploded through the head. This fictional creative vision makes for a nice display piece and functional desk tool.

Designed and made in the UK using woven finish carbon fibre tube, aluminium and laser cut acrylic to create the presentation stand.

ABOUT MECHATRONCNC

MechatronCNC

For years I have been making and sharing some of my projects on my Mechatron CNC Instagram. During the last 10 years I have built CNC machines and learned how to machine parts. I have a burning desire to be an entrepreneur machining parts in my small machine shop.

Composites have always interested me because they are normally associated with the most extreme machines and environments. I used composites in some of my early projects with a lot of experimentation. I made projects such as a computer case, movie prop replicas and college projects.

Easy composites have helped educate me further on these materials though the video series which makes the information easy to digest as-well as providing a clear web-store where the raw materials can be sourced.
