EU Distribution Centre - Now Open!

After 6 months of hard work, our new EU subsidiary is now open!

After first announcing that we would be setting up a new European distribution centre back in March, the whole team at Easy Composites has been working tirelessly to make this a reality as quickly as possible.

As of the 30th September, we are incredibly excited and proud to announce that our new European subsidiary, distribution centre and website are now open and ready to serve customers throughout the EU better then ever!

Existing customers of Easy Composites (UK) who are based in the EU will need to re-register on the new www.easycomposites.eu website. If you need to access your old orders (placed with Easy Composites in UK) you can still do this by logging in to the UK site; www.easycomposites.co.uk

We would like to thank all our European customers for their patience and we are sure we can provide a better service than ever before. We have lots more exciting plans for our EU base including training courses, a demo room, trade counter and open days. If you have some ideas, please share them with us.

Here's how we did it:

Our New Facility

Our New Facility

Once fully operational, Easy Composites’ new EU Distribution Centre will provide the best possible service to mainland EU customers, carrying large stocks of the entire range of Easy Composites products.

In the future, training courses, open days and a fully equipped ‘demo room’ will all operate from the site, providing easy access to Easy Composites, right in the heart of Europe.

20/05 - Racking & Packing Stations

20/05 - Racking & Packing Stations

Racking out 1,500m² of warehouse space was a large job! Fortunately, we worked with a fantastic team who followed precise CAD drawings sent over from the UK and racked-out the entire warehouse in one week.

Ready to pack and dispatch hundreds of orders each day, our new warehouse has a total of 4 packing stations, as well as a pallet packing area for larger orders.

02/06 - New Fork Truck

After doing much of the initial set-up using a rented fork-truck, we finally took delivery of our brand-new Stihl fork-truck. You can’t run a warehouse without one, but we do think this is a rather good-looking truck!

Installation of the first of our brand-new walk-in prepreg freezers. These huge custom-built Viessmann freezers will hold thousands of square metres of class-leading XPREG® prepregs, ready for immediate dispatch across Europe.

Stocking the new warehouse will take more than 5 full articulated trucks stacked high with advanced composite materials. As can be seen from the photos, the main deliveries haven’t started yet but some smaller orders are now arriving.

02/08 – 16/08 Many More Deliveries!

02/08 – 16/08 Many More Deliveries!

Over these two weeks we have been sending many more deliveries of stock from the UK to the new warehouse. Each time a full trailer leaves our warehouse in the UK and delivers directly to our EU warehouse.

23/08 - Fabric Carousel Is Fully Loaded

Our state-of-the-art fabric carousel is now fully loaded! The carousel holds 40 different rolls of our most popular reinforcements and bagging consumables which can be summoned in seconds at the touch of a button.

09/09 - Most Resin Products Now in Stock

Almost all the 'liquid' products have now been delivered and stocked, including thousands of kits of our best-selling epoxies.

We are now incredibly close to being able to 'open the doors' and start accept orders. We will keep this page updated as we reach the final stage of this massive project over the next week or two!

22/09 - Test Shipments Begin

22/09 - Test Shipments Begin

Having taken delivery of a full artic of our OV301 Curing Ovens (made right here on-site in the UK of course) and some last remaining product lines, the EU warehouse is now fully stocked with the complete Easy Composites range and we are now hopefully only a few days away from being able to process our first orders through the new distribution centre.

In order to fully test our systems, from today we begin a program of processing a small number of orders and tracking their progress from point of order through to delivery. This testing is expected to run for about one week, after which point we will be able to make an announcement regarding full operation.

29/09 - First Live Shipments Are Dispatched

Although the EU website is not yet live, we have started processing the first live shipments through our new EU distribution centre!

The EU website will be switched live within the next 1-2 days but if you are an EU customer and have an order that you would like to place with us, our sales team are now able to take orders directly and place them into our EU system. Please contact us if you would like to be one of our very first customers.

Thank you very much for taking this step to establish an EU warehouse! The costs associated with UK import to EU and mostly the time delays are the big problem. I was beginning search for alternative EU suppliers against my will, but now I can continue to be customer.
Easy Composites

Glad that we will still be able to help you with orders in the future. You are an example of why we are opening the warehouse in the first place. The challenges since Brexit have made this a necessary step to help us provide the customer service and products you expect in a timely fashion and at a great value price.
