Carbon Fibre Fins

These fins were made with a mix of resin infusion and wet lay up. The top and bottom sheets are infused separately in order to obtain the best surface possible.

The core is made from 7 layers of unidirectional carbon fibre. For these layers I used a wet lay process because it's quite hard to infuse the resin for uni-directional fibres at such thickness and pattern. Then all the components are assembled and held together under vacuum while curing.

The carbon fibre knife has an internal core in Ultra high modulus carbon fibre and inside are placed some neodymium magnets in order to hold it in place in is sheath.
