100g Emulsion Bound Chopped Strand Mat (1250mm)

Ultra-light weight 100g fibreglass matting chopped strand mat ideal for use as a fine surface layer on composite moulds before the main reinforcement is laid down.

Unlike simply stripped apart a heavier glass mat, this special 100gsm lightweight fibreglass matting has much finer glass strands making it very easy to lay the mat down in intimate contact with the gel coat, significantly reducing the chance of any voids or air bubbles between the gel coat and the main reinforcement.

This mat is 'emulsion bound' which means it uses a binder that is broken down by polyester or vinylester resin. It is not recommended for use with epoxy resin although at this very light weight it would be possible to laminate this mat using epoxy resin.

Our 100g emulsion bound CSM is suitable for use with polyester and vinylester resin systems. For an epoxy compatible CSM please see our powder bound CSM.

This roll is 1.25m (49") wide and the mat is sold by the linear metre. The unit price shown is for 1 linear metre but volume discounts automatically apply for larger quantities of mat.

Koop het aantal strekkende meters dat je nodig hebt. Bij aankoop van meerdere meters, voor kortere lengtes, wordt de stof gevouwen geleverd om de grootte van de verpakking en dus de verzendkosten te beperken. Als je de stof op een rol nodig hebt voor een specifieke toepassing, neem dan contact met ons op en we leveren de stof graag op die manier. Voor grotere lengtes kan de stof in twee of meer stukken worden geleverd.

Voor dit product geldt een minimale bestelhoeveelheid van 3m.

Use with Uni-Mould

This special 100g mat is highly recommended as the reinforcement for the 'coupling coat' when using our Uni-Mould universal mould making system. Using 2 layers of this 100g mat will result in 200g of reinforcement for the coupling layer which is the perfect amount and the fine strands of glass in this light weight mat will ensure that the coupling layer is entirely void free.

Emulsiegebonden CSM

Deze 'emulsiegebonden' CSM is ontworpen voor gebruik met polyesterhars of vinylesterhars die het emulsiebindmiddel snel afbreekt, zodat de mat gemakkelijk met een kwast of roller kan worden gelamineerd om de contouren van de mal te volgen.

Emulsion bound CSM is not really suitable for use with epoxy resin because the emulsion binder will not be broken down by epoxy, making the mat almost difficult to laminate with.
